A GREAT NEED FOR MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND SERVICES
The greatest needs for the health clinics in rural Honduras are:
BASIC MATERIALS:
- Medication for respiratory, intestinal problems, ear infections, and anemia
- Clinic supplies, changing gowns, practitioner tools
WOMEN'S HEALTH:
- Vitamin supplements, such as folic acid and iron pills, for
pregnant women
- Equipment for identifying and treating infections
DENTAL:
- Dental floss, toothbrushes, and toothpaste
"PRIDE IN MY VILLAGE" INITIATIVE
Light of Esperanza sponsors and organizes a garbage clean-up in the village of Vega Redonda every three months. Members of the community gather together to clean up the litter and engage in community beautification projects. This endeavor helps the environment, encourages community leadership and unity, and makes for an overall healthier life for the village.

El acceso a suministros dentales en la zona rural de Honduras es muy limitado. Muchos de los jovenes no tienen acceso a cepillos dentales, y la mayoria nuncan han conocido un hilo dental.
Cada ano, Light of Esperanza llevo cientos de cepillos dentales y cajas de hilo dental a los jovenes de la zona rural en Honduras con nuestro programa, "Dientes Saludables." Cuando los voluntarios de Light of Esperanza regalan los cepillos y el hilo dental, tambien ensenan a los jovenes como usarlo en la manera mas efectiva.

En 2013, Light of Esperanza inicio un program con la organizacion sin fines de lucro, Vitamin Angels. Juntos, trabajamos para asegurar que todas las mujeres embarazadas y lactando tengan acceso a las pastillas prenatales que son tan crucial para el nacimiento de sus hijos.

In 2013, Light of Esperanza began a wonderful partnership with the non-profit organization, Vitamin Angels. Together, we are working to ensure that all pregnant and lactating women in rural Honduras have access to crucial prenatal pills.
LIGHT OF ESPERANZA'S "HEALTHY TEETH" PROGRAM
Access to dental supplies in rural Honduras is very limited. Most youth do not have toothbrushes, and the majority have never used dental floss before.
Each year, Light of Esperanza brings hundreds of donated toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss to the youth of rural Honduras through our "Healthy Teeth" program. Light of Esperanza volunteers teach the youth how to properly brush their teeth and use the dental floss in the most effective way.
CÓMO PUEDE AYUDAR:
